MEXICO
Federal Government of Mexico
From the Office of the President to several his cabinet positions, the Federal Government of Mexico
has provided continuing support of the Silicon Border Vision.  Investing in its future, the Federal
Government of Mexico provided grant money to Silicon Border Development to help launch the
vision.  They have both lead and participated in many discussions with potential clients, using its
trade ambassadors to help open doors to companies in Southeast Asia.  The Hacienda, Mexico's
equivalent to the IRS, has worked to provide tax incentives that rival those of Southeast Asia in
order to attract major technology companies to Mexico.  Back in 2004, then President Fox met with
key members of technology companies to learn what Mexico must  do to bring these companies to
Mexico.  He ended the meeting with "Let me make you an offer you can't refuse".  Now President
Calderon has picked up the challenge to bring more high technology companies to Mexico.

State of Baja California
The Government of the State of Baja California has be critically involved in the joint market efforts
and providing grants to Silicon Border Development.  They have been active along with the Federal
Government of Mexico in helping to identify and pursue clients for Silicon Border Science Park
which has included incentive packages tailored to potential clients.

UNITED STATES

State of California
Understanding the growth of the Imperial Valley and the effect Silicon Border Science Park will have
on growth in that region, Governor Schwarzenegger and his staff have stayed involved in the
information flow from Silicon Border and what California will need for infrastructure and education
in the Imperial Valley to support the growth boom.  Other local government entities such as the
region city mayoral and county supervisors have met with Silicon Border on several occasions to
gather needed information to supplement their growth projections.

In 2005, after meeting with Governor Elorduy of Baja California, Governor Swartzenegger formed
the
California-Baja California Task Group to meet regularly to discuss cross border issues.  Silicon
Border Development is an active part in the Task Force.  His meetings were memorialized in two
radio addresses (
radio address 1, radio address 2).
